California Lutheran University will offer a free event about the psychology of fright from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Mon., April 28 on campus in the Preus-Brandt Forum at 135 Chapel Lane, south of Olsen Road.
Titled “Oh, the Horror: The Psychology of Fright,” part of the university’s Festival of Scholars and Reel Madness Film Series, will include a discussion with horror movie writer and director Tom Holland and a screening of his recently released collection of shorts, “Tom Holland’s Twisted Tales.”
He will join Michael Gerson, an assistant professor in CLU’s graduate school of psychology, and Herb Gooch, a political science professor, for a panel discussion on why people like to be frightened.
