Positive Business DC today announced a new webinar, first in a series of 3, called Hacking Creativity. The webinar series was designed exclusively for Positive Business DC by students at the University of Pennsylvania’s Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program. Jessica Amortegui, the facilitator of the session, will teach the inside secrets of becoming more creative including tips that can be put into practice right away. The Webinar will be held for September 24th at noon EST and is Positive Business DC’s fifth online event. People can register at http://www.positivebusinessdc.com.
“We are thrilled to have been chosen by Penn as one of their service learning projects for 2014. It is largely due to the MAPP program that we are able to continue to offer free, cutting-edge webinars based on the science of well-being for our members,” says Shannon Polly, MAPP, co-founder of Positive Business DC. “The Webinar has been designed to highlight the research around creativity, be interactive and give insights as to how one can be more creative at work.”
The webinar designers are all now graduates from the respected Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program and include Jessica Amortegui, Katrina Calihan, Jaiqi Wu, Tal Eyere and Shira Reicher. The MAPP program was created by Dr. Martin Seligman, founder of the discipline of positive psychology, and visionary for the first degree of its kind in the world.
“If you want to be competitive today, you need to innovate. This means whether you are working on strategy or in execution mode,” said Jessica Amortegui, the webinar facilitator and Director of the Global Talent Development team for VMware, “This webinar provides information and tools that lead to creativity and innovation for corporate leaders.”

About the Master of Applied Positive Psychology Program
The Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program at the University of Pennsylvania was the first in the world to offer a degree in this rigorous field of study. Dr. Martin Seligman, founder of the discipline of positive psychology, created the MAPP program to educate and train students at the cutting edge of the field. The program follows a hybrid model, allowing you to explore the theory and practice of positive psychology while you continue to invest in your current work and community. The program consists of nine courses, completed during one year of full-time study during consecutive fall, spring and summer semesters.
About Positive Business DC
Positive Business DC (@PositiveBizDC) was founded in 2012 by Shannon Polly (@shannonpolly), MAPP, Marcia Moran (@mmoran76), and Donna Hemmert (@dhemmert) (expected MAPP, 2015) to inform and inspire leaders across the Metro DC region to increase well-being, productivity and profitability in the workplace. More than a decade of rigorous scientific research shows that well-being can be measured, taught, and increased through the tools developed from the science of positive psychology. Infusing these elements into corporate DNA enables organizations to increase productivity, reduce absenteeism and turnover, and drastically improve the bottom line.
