On the Move: Gateway Title Services, dental firm, United Way announce new hires

Gateway Title Services recently hired two new team members, making Gateway Title the largest title company in Rutherford County.

Christie Gibbons and Leslie Smith, both of Murfreesboro, have joined the growing business to help support the closing, processing, and title commitment departments.

"We are fortunate to have found such talented and caring people like Christie and Leslie," said Glenn Macbeth, real estate attorney and president of GTS. "Our business is all about taking care of people, and Christie and Leslie both personify those values."

Gibbons is originally from Middle Tennessee and her family relocated to Rutherford County from North Carolina in 2007. She holds a bachelor's degree from MTSU and when she is not working or spending time with her family she volunteers for The Center for Equine Recovery for Veterans.

Smith is a Rutherford County native and a recent graduate of The University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Gateway Title Services was founded in 2006 by Macbeth. The company provides closing services and title insurance for the purchase, sell, or refinance of real estate in Tennessee.

Saunders joins dental firm

William Fitzgerald DDS Family Cosmetic Dentistry has added Dr. Beth Saunders to its dental team.

"I'm very excited to be associated with Dr. Fitzgerald and his team," Saunders said. "His training with cosmetic mentors throughout the U.S. gives him a definite advantage in materials and technique. Their office has always been in the forefront providing cutting edge oral care."

Saunders graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry in 1999. With more than 15 years of practicing dentistry, she has practiced alongside several great mentors and practitioners and has a passion to continue learning. Her career has included owning and growing a practice.

United Way adds new Community Engagement director

Lisbeth Couser has joined the staff of the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties as the director of Community Engagement.

Couser serves as a member of the development and engagement team, and is responsible for connecting community members and organizations with United Way through public relations initiatives, strategic engagement opportunities, volunteerism, and successful events and event sponsorship programs.

"We are excited to have Lis join our team. She brings a record of successful leadership to the United Way. Lis will complement our organization well and we look forward to her playing a role in enhancing our development and engagement efforts," said Meagan Flippin, president and CEO of United Way.

Couser comes to United Way after having served as the director of Grants and Strategic Initiatives for Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of the agency's fund development including corporate sponsorship, foundation support, and individual giving.

Prior to her role in East Tennessee, Couser served as the vice president of Marketing Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, where she led the agency's marketing staff and was responsible for advertising, event sponsorships, fundraising, and public relations.

She graduated from MTSU with a bachelor's degree in mass communication, and holds executive credentials from Vanderbilt University.

Psychologist establishes Murfreesboro office

Dr. Sarah Rogers has recently established her psychology practice at 1134 Dow St. in Murfreesboro in affiliation with Dr. David Mathis, Rogers said in a press release.

She provides individual and family therapy and conducts comprehensive psychological assessments. Rogers specializes in providing therapeutic services to those experiencing difficulties with anxiety—including panic and obsessive-compulsive disorder—depression, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, and grief and loss.

Her assessment specialties include evaluations for ADHD, learning disabilities, cognitive and memory impairment, mood and personality disorders, and presurgical evaluations. Rogers is a native of Central New York. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Syracuse University. She completed her doctorate in psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington D.C.

Rogers completed her postdoctoral training at a private outpatient mental health practice in Northern Virginia.

Rogers is an advocate of individualized treatment and believes in the importance of an integrative approach to therapy. She is mindful of the effects of cognitive, emotional, and physiological factors on overall mental health.

Her comprehensive approach to psychological assessment focuses on diagnosing issues that are interfering with daily functioning and developing individualized treatment recommendations for optimal symptom relief.
