The names of New City residents have been added to several fall 2011 Dean’s Lists and honor societies.
The College at Brockport, State University of New York added Joseph Carmello to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester. Students who achieve a 3.40–3.69 are named to the Dean's List.
SUNY Oswego named the following students to the Deans' List, which requires a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79:
Olivia R. Blanchard, a senior. majoring in human development
Andrew R. Funfgeld, a junior, majoring in elementary education
Ryan T. Kennish, a sophomore, with an undeclared major
Julie L. McCarthy, a freshman, majoring in broadcasting and mass communication
Jordan L. Rockower, a sophomore, majoring in broadcasting and mass communication.
Honor Societies
Dominican College in Orangeburg inducted Diandra Cabahug and Tonia Kizhakepuram into Alpha Lambda Delta, the national honor society for first-year students. Alpha Lambda Delta extends membership to those students who have succeeded in maintaining a 3.25 or higher GPA, and who are in the top 20% of their class in their first year of college
Dominican College inducted Jessica Aulakh and Judith Joseph into Psi Chi, the national and international honor society in Psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate men and women who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests, and who meet the minimum qualifications.
Graduates
Kayla Inanc graduated with a major in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications in December 2011.
The State University of New York at New Paltz presented graduate degrees to: Kimberly Belmonte, who received a MA in Psychology and Michael Ramponi, who received a CAS in School Leadership.
Citizen Solider
Major General Patrick A. Murphy, the Adjutant General, announced the recent reenlistment of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their continuing commitment to serve community, state and nation as part of the Army National Guard. Staff Sergeant Miguel Nunez has reenlisted to continue service with the Company A 3-142nd Aviation.
