SHEBOYGAN — The University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan will welcome a number of new faces to campus this fall with the addition of several new faculty and staff members for the start of the 2012-13 academic year.
The following new faculty and instructional academic staff have been added:
Devin Bickner is the new Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Bickner comes to UW-Sheboygan from Iowa State University where he was an instructor and a teaching assistant. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Iowa State University and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Dr. Ann Mattis is the new Assistant Professor of English. She comes to UW-Sheboygan from Marquette University where she served as a Visiting Professor in English, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she was a lecturer in English and Women’s Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Women’s Studies/Gender Studies from Loyola University in Chicago, a MA in English and a BA in English Literature from Loyola University.
Dr. Julie Konik is the new Assistant Professor of Psychology/Education at UW-Sheboygan. She comes to Sheboygan from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where she served as an associate lecturer of Psychology and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where she was a lecturer of the Center for New Learning in Psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, a MA in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University in West Chester, PA, and a BS in Economics from West Chester University.
Dr. Dennis Crossley is the new Assistant Professor of Physics. Crossley has served as a senior lecturer of Physics and Math at UW-Sheboygan since 2007. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a MS in Physics from UW-Madison, a MS in Chemistry from the University of California-San Diego and a BS in Chemistry from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Richard Krupnow is a new Senior Lecturer in English. Krupnow comes to UW-Sheboygan from UW-Fox Valley where he has taught English since 1996. He has also taught at UW-Fond du Lac, UW-Marathon County and through the UW Colleges Online program. He holds a Master’s in English from Ball State University and a B.S. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Kathy Pedersen is serving as an associate lecturer in Music this year, teaching Applied Piano. Pedersen has served as the UW-Sheboygan Choir accompanist since 2008, as well as running her own private piano instruction studio since 1980. Pedersen holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Vocal Music Education from Lawrence University.
Stephanie Evenson, DVM, is a new Senior Lecturer in Biology. Evenson comes to UW-Sheboygan from Lakeland College and Herzing University Online, as well as Globe University in Green Bay and Middleton, where she served as a resident veterinarian and instructor. Evenson holds a Master of Science in Bacteriology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Allan Persinger is the new lecturer of English. Persinger comes to UW-Sheboygan from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he served as an English Department graduate teaching assistant and Milwaukee Area Techincal College where he was a liberal arts and sciences adjunct composition instructor. He holds a MA in English-Creative Writing and a BA in English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is currently completing his Ph.D. in English-Creative Writing.
Dr. Leigh Ann Kramer is a new senior lecturer in Education. She comes to UW-Sheboygan from Lakeshore Technical College where she serves as a faculty member and program chair for Early Childhood Education and Child Care Services programs. She is also an adjunct instructor for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay in the online Early Childhood Education Program and for Gateway Technical College in Racine. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Marquette University.
Dr. William Storm is a new lecturer in English. He comes to UW-Sheboygan from Marquette University where he served as an ESL instructor and a graduate instructor. He is completing his Ph.D. in English Literature with Marquette University this December and holds a MA in English Literature from the University of Mississippi and a BA in English Literature from Marquette University.
Daryl Kliment is a new associate lecturer of Computer Science. He comes to UW-Sheboygan from Lakeland College and Lakeshore Technical College where he served as an adjunct faculty member. He is also currently a programmer with the Manitowoc Public Utilities. He holds a MS in Management/Microcomputer Applications from Lesley College, MA, and a BS in Computer Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Yer Yang is a new associate lecturer of History. She holds a Master of Education with an emphasis in ELL from Lakeland College and a BA in English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
