PETALING JAYA: A mind-bending exhibition, “Illusion – Nothing Is As it Seems”, was launched at Petrosains KLCC, fusing science, art and psychology in a bid to highlight the relevance and wonders of science.
Petrosains chief executive officer Tengku Nasariah Tengku Syed Ibrahim and guest of honour, Irish Ambassador to Malaysia Eamon Hickey, launched the exhibition yesterday.
“With the element of psychological trickery thrown in, ‘Illusion’ will serve as a hook to draw in and intrigue the audience towards science,” said Nasariah.
“This exhibition has been designed to have a broad appeal, especially to the younger generation, with the hope of igniting their creativity and sense of discovery in the realm of science and art,” said Hickey.
The exhibition, aimed at nurturing a love for science in youths, is a collaboration with the Science Gallery at Trinity College, Dublin.
The launch was hosted by up-and-coming host and actress Juliana Evans and accompanied by mesmerising performances by the KL Young Singers, a group of young a capella performers.
“Illusion” recently showcased in San Diego, California.
Kuala Lumpur is its first Asian venue.
Tickets are priced at RM5.30 for children aged between three and 12, RM10.60 for those aged 13 to 17, RM15.90 for adults and RM8.50 for senior citizens aged 56 and above.
The exhibition runs from Tuesdays to Sundays until December at the Discovery Centre, Petrosains, KLCC.
