Tyler Cawley, son of Christine Cawley, of Duryea, graduated from the Parris Island Marine Corp. Boot Camp in South Carolina on Oct 3. A 2014 graduate of Pittston Area High School, Cawley will soon begin a nine-week training course at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He has two brothers, Cody and Chad, at home.
Ackerman to speak at LCCC
The Luzerne County Community College Psi Beta Honor Society/Psychology Club will continue its last lecture series at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the college’s campus.
Guest speaker for this year’s lecture is Ed Ackerman, Pittston, assistant professor, Communication Arts at LCCC and local columnist.
According to Lynn Grilli, advisor of the LCCC Psi Beta/Psychology Club, the last lecture series is conducted on college campuses across the United States and provides a forum outside the classroom for faculty to share their wisdom and life lessons.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
Breznay attends seminar
Dr. Margaret Ace Breznay, D.C., M.S., R.D., recently attended a seminar titled “Best Practices For The Third Party Administrator” held by The Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association of America.
Breznay is the owner of Be Wise Occupational Health, LLC, 1125 Main St., Avoca. She resides in Pittston Township with her husband, Chris, and two daughters, Anna Rose and Margaret.
