Joliet Catholic Academy is pleased to announce its Students of the Month for January: Kelly Feigh, Joliet Noon Lions Club; Christopher Millerin, Rotary Club of Joliet; and Alex Rubocki, Kiwanis Club of Joliet.
The daughter of Jim and Denise, Feigh lists history and psychology as her favorite subjects and carries a 3.92 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. An Illinois State Scholar ranked sixth in her class, she has been named to National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta for math and National French Honor Society.
As a sophomore, Feigh earned a state championship with the Angels’ girls volleyball team. Over the next two years on varsity, she was named all-conference, all-area and special mention All-State and also was picked to play in the SportsTown Chicago All-Star Game. She was chosen team co-captain as a senior.
A Plainfield resident, Feigh is a student ambassador and a member of Student Council, French Club, Key Club and Varsity Club. She is the treasurer for French Club. Her plan is to major in psychology or biology, possibly minoring in sociology, in hopes of becoming a psychologist or physician’s assistant.
The son of Michael and Teresa, Millerin lists math as his favorite subject and carries a 3.7 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. He has been named to National Honor Society, National French Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta for math and has earned a National French Contest certificate.
A member of French Club, Scholastic Bowl and the Victory View school newspaper, Millerin received Eagle Scout recognition this fall. He is actively involved with Boy Scouts of America Troop 444, the Experimental Aircraft Association and Werbirds of America Squadron 4.
“My No. 1 ambition in life is flying,” said Millerin, a Joliet resident who plans on majoring in aviation flight management at Lewis University. “I am currently working on my private pilot’s license, and I also love the outdoors, camping, hiking and bicycling.”
The son of Jeffrey and Cheri, Rubocki scored a 30 on the ACT test and carries a weighted 4.64 grade-point average on a 5.0 scale. He is ranked in the top 5 percent of his class and was named an Illinois State Scholar.
A Joliet resident, Rubocki is a member of National Spanish Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta for math and competes in Scholastic Bowl. Athletically, he has been swimming on the Joliet Jets Y Team for the past 10 years.
Rubocki plans on attending either the University of Illinois or Ohio State with a major in mechanical engineering and a minor in finance.
