Zanu PF deputy director of information and publicity Psychology Maziwisa has described as disgusting and shaming recent allegations by MDC-T politician Job Sikhala that President Mugabe was the reason he had 10 children in nine years.

Sikhala said he produced nine children in a single 10-year spell with his wife to race the effects of a 2003 State torture ordeal which targeted his reproductive organs.

But Maziwisa said on his Facebook page, "For many centuries now, we Zimbabweans have been able to pride ourselves on being one of the most principled, truthful and honest nations in the world. We stand by what we believe in and take responsibility for our mistakes. Lying and passing the buck is not part of our culture.

"Of course there have been exceptional cases where this tradition has been broken. But by and large we have managed to maintain our decency as a society. And this is what makes the emerging culture of abrogation of responsibility within the MDC all the more repulsive.

"Not a single day goes by without someone in the MDC refusing to take responsibility for their actions. First it was Tsvangirai when he flatly refused any responsibility for impregnating Loreta Nyathi. And then came his disgusting claim that ZANU PF had somehow caused him to meet with and propose to Locardia Karimatsenga-Tembo.

"Not once has Tsvangirai blamed himself for the poor performance of his party in three successive elections. Always he has had to find someone else to blame. There are several other cases, too many to mention here, where the MDC has sought to absolve itself from any responsibility.

"But, let's face it, Job Sikhala's claim that President Mugabe, and not himself, was responsible for his production of 9 children in 10 years is the most laughable of them all and must surely take the trophy.

"Such disgusting allegations as these are deeply shaming to Zimbabwe as a nation, and do appalling damage to our reputation across the world as a responsible people."
