Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor is going to be a "complicated, challenging person."
In an interview with Total Film, the "Social Network" star revealed he worked closely with the film's writers in order to complicate Luthor's comic book sensibilities, aka the villain's "less than totally modern psychology."

"I got to know one of the writers really well, Chris Terrio, and we were able to discuss things at length and figure out who this person is to create a real psychology behind what is, perhaps, in a comic book, a less than totally modern psychology," Eisenberg said.
Eisenberg apparently had no idea how undeveloped Luthor was until after the "Zombieland" star had already agreed to be in the movie, saying, "You know, they don't just hand the scripts out... They asked me if I wanted to play the part before they sent me the script."
The 30-year-old actor figured it would be prudent to accept the part whether the script was interesting or not, as starring in a superhero blockbuster will help him shake his indie rep—and make him millions of dollars.
"To say, I can't do that which will appear in thousands of theaters on opening day, but I can do this which will appear in this amount of theaters... It's arbitrary," Eisenberg said.
"I realize how popular comic-book movies are, and now, working on one, I realize why they're popular - the story is really good, the dialogue is really good, the artistry behind every department is high, the acting is really good."
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is scheduled to be released in March, 2016.
