Heather Peters's Psychology Students to Present on Microagressions

Led by Heather Peters, assistant professor of psychology, students in the Multicultural Psychology class have been studying microaggressions and will present their findings on Tuesday, December 4, at 12 p.m. in Imholte Hall 109. Members of the campus and local community are invited and encouraged to attend these presentations. Refreshments will be provided, and free guest parking is available in the North parking lot.

Throughout the semester, Peters's students have been studying microaggressions—seemingly innocent comments that create harmful environments. In partnership with the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Intercultural Programs, class members have determined socially just ways of responding to such comments in the moment and would like to share these practical tips with the broader community.
