JAMMU, Dec 11: A one-day National Seminar on “Mental Psychological Health and Adolescent Problems” was organized by Gandhi peace foundation, New Delhi in collaboration with eminent Psychologists at the Goenkan acres.
The theme of the seminar was” Mental- Psychological Health And Adolescent Problems”. The key resource persons were the psychologists Prof (Dr.) S Ambiyam from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute , Pondicherry, and Dr S. Sarada International consultant from Clinical Psychologist Ernakulam, Kerala along with Professor Arti Bakshi, HoD Psychology Department, University of Jammu, Dr. Seema Rohmetra, Assistant Professor from Jammu University and Dr. Sapna K Sangra, from Deptt of Psychology, University of Jammu who made presentations on the important aspects of the Seminar for the students from classes VIII to XII.
Prof. Arti Bakshi, HoD Psychology along with other psychologists dwelled upon the adolescent issues saying that Adolescence consists of not just physical changes but also internal hormonal changes which have a deep impact on young adults’ emotions, feelings, behaviour etc. Dr. Sangra talked about the Social Responsibilities of Adolescents, while Dr. Seema Rohmetra focussed upon the Gandhian Perspective of Integral health of the Adolescents, in terms of body, mind and spirit. The purpose of the seminar was to make the students aware of the different problems that are face by them and the manner in which the students could cope well with the issues.
Principal Dr. R.P Singh appreciated the organisation of Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi and the resource persons for this initiative. Dr. Seema Rohmetra, coordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation, Jammu, chapter and Dr. sapna K Sangra, the co- coordinator of Gandhi Peace Foundation, coordinated with different authorities in organising the seminar.
