BC Announces New Faculty – Brevard NC

Brevard College is pleased to announce the hiring of two new faculty members for the upcoming fall semester.
Dr. Caroline Mann has been named the College’s new Assistant Professor of Psychology, while Andrea Boccanfuso will serve a visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre.
Dr. Mann comes to Brevard College from the University of North Carolina - Asheville, where she was a full time lecturer. She has also served as an assistant professor at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. and a visiting assistant professor at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va.
Dr. Mann has received numerous grants and awards for her psychological research as well as for her poetry writing. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UNC-Asheville and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Tennessee.
Boccanfuso comes to Brevard College from New York City, where she spent several years as head of design at one of the country’s largest fashion and event lighting companies, IMCD Lighting Inc ., whose clients include Prada, Lady Gaga, Google, Chanel, Versace and Calvin Klein among many others. Prior to that, she was a project coordinator at The Lighting Design Group, Inc ., where she served as lighting venues coordinator for NBC’s coverage of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy. With LDG, Boccanfuso also coordinated lighting projects for ABC, CNN, Oxygen, The Food Network, and NBC (2004 Democracy Plaza at Rockefeller Plaza).
Boccanfuso has spent the past 13 summers at the Brevard Music Center, the last six as the production manager and prior to that as a lighting designer. She received her bachelor’s degree in Theatre from The University of West Florida and her master’s degree in Lighting Design from the Conservatory of Theatre, Arts and Film — Design/Technology at SUNY Purchase. Boccanfuso is also a member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829.
