Thursday: Some talks are irresistible simply because of their ambition, and the panel at the National Center for Atmospheric Research on Feb. 5 has to be among them: Artist Jane McMahan and scientist Jeffrey Kiehl will connect the dots between "art, science, climate change, and Jungian psychology." NCAR is the right place for the confab. For years, the center has made art exhibits a priority, and right now McMahan is showing "Hard Rain Revelations," about how the Earth's hydrologic cycle responds to global warming. Kiehl happens to be a Jungian analyst with his own ideas on why climate change is hard for many to accept. They'll both talk about art's ability to communicate difficult topics. 5 p.m. Thursday, NCAR, 1850 Table Mesa Drive, Boulder. Free/ https://scied.ucar.edu/events/hard_rain
